Segmentation question block#355

A question block that specifically acts as a segmentation question, so that answers can be analyzed based on the responses to the segments defined in the question.

For example: I may recruit 60 participants from UseBerry to run my study. However, I might not have strict quotas on how many users of different segments I want to receive, therefore relying on randomness for higher statistical relevance.

But I would like to segment my results based on a key characteristic of that audience, to see if there are patterns between them.

For example: I might want to run the same prototype among two distinct personas: recent home buyers and recent home sellers (without any overlap in the two).

  • So I might recruit an audience of 30 each, total of 60.
  • However, I may want to splice the results and analyze them based on type of area they live in (e.g. rural, suburban, urban).
  • I don’t have a strict quota on how many responses from rural / suburban / urban I want, since that’s not a primary segmentation factor.
  • Therefore, I’m NOT going to break down my recruit into 6 segments (e.g. 10 home sellers who are rural, 10 home sellers who are urban, so on).

But given that where someone lives might make a difference in the results, I would love to have a simple question block where I can ask a simple multiple choice (e.g. do you live in rural, suburban, or urban?) question that I can THEN use to segment the results.

This would be very similar to the recruitment segmentation, but segmentating based off a question response rather than a recruit audience.
