For usesability tetsing of ‘life’ webpages it is preferable that the user determents when the task is completed ( not a ‘Next’ button but ‘Ready/ Finished button’

Yes, when the task auto advances on the “correct” screen I have seen that particpants start to click around until they get the next task rather than selecting what screen they think the answer is

You can use an “open analytics” block.

  • This is essentially self reported usability testing
  • Participants will click the “continue” button when they think they have completed the task or if they think they can not complete the task.
  • Then you can ask followup quetsions (i.e. how confident are you that you have completed the task successfully?)
